collaborative by design

At its best, collaboration can inspire us and open our minds to new ideas while it connects us.  It benefits from strong expertise and competency, but also from the intangible synergy that can arise when minds meet and exchange.

Nuvola is led by Olga Mesa and Nathan Fash, Associate Professors of Architecture at Roger Williams University, each with over 25 years of experience.  Their work in architectural design, research on material systems and innovative fabrication techniques, building construction, and architectural preservation has received numerous awards and been featured in national and international publications.

Collaboration is fundamental to every project at Nuvola, both internally among our team, and externally with colleagues, artisans, universities, non-profits, government agencies, and others. Research, practice, and teaching are interdependent and in a state of constant symbiosis, where academia is a testing laboratory for ideas which feed further exploration and implementation.

We are grateful for the contributions of our team of collaborators in years past too!
